Pro-Government Forces Open Fire on Protesters in Iran - Government shuts down access to Internet and texting.

Government forces fired automatic weapons into thousands of pro-democracy protesters for a second day Thursday, and the military government said nine people were killed and 11 wounded.

Tens of thousands defied the ruling military junta's crackdown with a 10th straight day of demonstrations. Security forces also raided several monasteries overnight, beating monks and arresting more than 100, according to a monk at one monastery.

Thoughts on David Letterman

Johnny Carson must be rolling over in his grave. Even the late Lenny Bruce is having a fit. While you were watching David Letterman -- a bitter guy who never saw a woman or a Republican he could stand -- trash Sarah Palin's 14-year-old daughter by "joking" that she was date-raped by Alex Rodriguez and stalked by Eliot Spitzer, you may have missed the memo. Dave's in good company..
One has to wonder why these so called comedians are getting big pay for trashing America?
I'm sick of self-described comedians thinking that they can get as disgusting and debasing as they want and say oh lighten up - it just a joke! No, it's not funny when they become downright mean and Letterman has gone from okay comedy to now just mean.

It's horrible what he did to Palin's daughters - first the 14 y/o and then thought it would be acceptable if he changed it to the 18 year old. Who thinks that way these days???? Oh, right, the "progressives." It's disgusting.

All of us were so eager for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to lose that we got caught up in the popular enthusiasm, especially among Iran's younger voters and Since the US has openly tossed Israel onto the rhetorical scrap heap, the passivity of the US toward Iran leaves Israel no survival chance unless it decapitates Iran's nukes unilaterally.
Was this election stolen? I don't know, I can easily see western reporters over-estimating urban vs. rural voting impact. However, the margin does seem far too wide, polling indicated a close race and turnout was huge.

This could get more interesting.

I think the younger Iranians understand that they are responsible for their leader's actions and that Ahmadinejad puts them in greater danger. After seeing what the countries around them have gone through, Afganistan, Iraq, Pakistan and to some extent Syria, there has to be some fear that an American or Israeli attack would be the beginning of really bad times

What do Obama and Sotomayor have in common?

There is no doubt in my mind that both Obama and Sotomayor got to where they are because of their race. This is what this country has come to. We are now having very powerful positions filled by people who got there solely because of their race instead of their ability. Does anyone really wonder why our country is crumbling from the inside out? Multiculturalism is a failed social experiment. Each race has it's own political agenda and beliefs and the politicians cater to them. You always here about politicians going after the African American or Hispanic vote but never do you hear of anyone going after the European American vote. The more this country becomes multicultural and multiracial, the further it will slide into the cesspool that we are heading toward.

Is this man in love with himself, or what! Apparently he forgot about the 3,000 people who lost their lives at the hands of these radical Muslim terrorists. Still enjoying a comment last week from Michelle Malkin which I enlarged and keep near my desk for sharing...she said 'Democrats are eager to celebrate diversity as long as the diversely pigmented pledge allegiance to the Left for life.' They always seem to twist the facts and fudge the truth to their willing kool-aid gulping minion sheeple, though, dont they?
